I enjoy the characters and how they relate with each other. The friendship between the four ladies in the series is really fun and how they always come back to what's most important, friendship. When someone is being a jerk, you figure out why, you don't just ditch them. I enjoyed that aspect and the romance was sweet, you want the two main characters to find each other because you like them. (There were scenes that I would consider R rated, if this were a movie, just so everyone knows that's there. I personally just skip those pages and enjoy the rest of the story. But I know everyone is different.)Tags : Vision in White (The Bride Quartet, Book 1) [Nora Roberts] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. <b>#1 New York Times</i> bestselling author Nora Roberts presents her first trade original—a novel of love,Nora Roberts,Vision in White (The Bride Quartet, Book 1),Berkley,0425227510,FIC027020,Romance - Contemporary,Female friendship,Female friendship;Fiction.,Love stories,Wedding supplies and services industry,Wedding supplies and services industry;Fiction.,Weddings - Planning,Weddings;Planning;Fiction.,AMERICAN CONTEMPORARY FICTION,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,Adult & contemporary romance,American Contemporary Fiction - Individual Authors +,FICTION Romance Contemporary,FICTION Romance General,FICTION Women,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,GENERAL,General Adult,Monograph Series, 1st,Planning,ROBERTS, NORA - PROSE & CRITICISM,RomanceModern,Romance: Modern,United States,Wedding supplies and services industry,Wedding supplies and services industry;Fiction.,Weddings,Weddings - Planning,Weddings;Planning;Fiction.,contemporary romance; contemporary women; romance; fiction; contemporary; love; marriage; wedding; weddings; family life; family; friendship; friends; Bride Quartet; photographer; photography; teacher; wedding planning; Vows; chick lit; Nora Roberts series; brides; relationship books; contemporary fiction; nora roberts bride quartet series; nora roberts books; women gifts; books for women; love story; contemporary romance books; romance novels; romance books; bridal gift; wedding planner; gifts for women; gifts for her, nora roberts bride quartet series;nora roberts books;women gifts;books for women;relationship books;love story;contemporary fiction;contemporary romance books;romance novels;romance books;bridal gift;wedding planner;contemporary romance;contemporary women;romance;contemporary;love;marriage;wedding;weddings;family life;family;friendship;friends;Bride Quartet;photographer;photography;teacher;wedding planning;Vows;chick lit;Nora Roberts series;brides;gifts for photographers;women's fiction,FICTION Romance Contemporary,FICTION Romance General,FICTION Women,Fiction - Romance,American Contemporary Fiction - Individual Authors +,American Light Romantic Fiction,Planning,Weddings,Fiction,Romance: Modern,Adult & contemporary romance
Vision in White The Bride Quartet Book 1 Nora Roberts 9780425227510 Books Reviews
In my opinion, this book is not the same caliber work Ms. Roberts usually delivers. It was good, but not spectacular. It wounds me to say that because I'm an avid fan.
I bought VISIONS from . One of my Mother's Day gifts was the third book in this quartet. I wanted to read them in order, right away, so I ordered VISIONS. It was upsetting to have to spend nearly $10.00 to get it. More so because I'd downloaded a sample of it months ago and decided not to order it, to wait until I could get it at a used bookstore or a garage sale because it didn't reach out and grab me right away.
For me, the best character in VISION is the hero, Carter. He's definitely adorable, and admirable.
The life-long friendships are a nice touch but I'm hoping they'll be expanded on in the rest of the books. It was kind of hard to feel their connection in this tale.
The weddings that go on are touching, but I learned way more than I wanted to know about wedding planners.
I haven't written a review on any of Ms. Roberts' work before because I figured everyone who read her would be a huge fan and my reviews would be lost in the multitude of other glowing reviews. It feels quite odd to write something less than a stellar review for an author I admire so very much. Still, I did enjoy this tale. If you enjoy romances, chances are you'll enjoy this tale, too. Be prepared though, there isn't a bad guy in this book.

I was uber-excited that the release of Nora's latest novel coincided with my completion of <i> Ulysses </i>. I like to reward myself with trashy romance novels during breaks from school. As far as a theme for the quartet, I find it extremely apropos that the series built on Happily Ever After centers on the wedding business. From a purely aesthetic perspective, the book design was incredibly appealing. Where <i> Vision in White </i> falters somewhat is in the backstory to support the couple's chemistry and while Roberts lavishes attention on Mac's photography, her portrayal of Carter's teaching and scholarly writing is severely lacking. Maybe I am oversensitive to this issue because I'm an academic, but I think if she can write eloquently and amusingly in other novels about waitressing, gardening, cooking, flying planes, boat construction, and glass blowing (this list is by no means exhaustive, her characters have had almost every imaginable profession) the same cleverness and careful detail should be directed towards education and erudition. Nevertheless, <i> Vision </i> more than fulfills the requirements of a solid, quick romance.
A Vision in White is centered around wedding photographer, Mac and her love interest, Carter, the PhD. Due to her upbringing, Mac is a commitment-phobe and Carter is the person that was apparently meant to help her see that love is worth the uncertainty.
I definitely enjoyed this book! It was referred by Linda Holmes from NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour. Nora Roberts put a lot of time into the B-plot (the wedding planning/photography business) which I appreciated. I realize this is a romance book, but I hate when it seems like the hero/heroines have nothing else going on in their lives than falling in love and making dumb choices. Nora gave adequate attention to Mac's business, her relationship with her friends, and needed insight into her relationship with her mother, who made her the way she is.
To be honest, I liked Carter more than Mac. He was a great example of a man that knew what he wanted and could easily express that, as opposed to the emotionally stunted heroes we see a lot of. Mac was more the emotionally stunted one, but for good reason I suppose.
I think they fell in love a little fast, but that's to be expected in these books. Overall, a cute book and I will pick up the next book in the series.
4.5/5
Love does not come with a guarantee which I feel was the main theme to this story. I’m not sure that was Nora Robert’s plan but that is what I got out of it. It’s really a lovely story of Mac and Carter. Mac comes from a family with absolutely no good example of love or relationships. Carter comes from a loving family but a bad relationship leaves some bad feelings of relationships for him.
This is the first book in the series. Mac and her three friends own and operate Vows, a wedding planning company. Great start to the series and I look forward to reading about the other ladies of Vows.
