Immortal Unchained An Argeneau Novel Lynsay Sands Books
This is one of my all-time favorite series, even tho a few of the most recent additions have been slight misses for me. The beginning of this one had me worried it, too, would be a miss. The first 30% or so seemed very slow to me, or maybe cluttered is a better word. Sarita & Domitian spend a LOT of time in their heads or describing things that just seemed like filler. If you start to feel that way, PUSH THROUGH. There's a point where it feels like a switch is flipped & suddenly I was flipping pages & highly engrossed in the story. On a relationship level, Sarita & Domitian start to really get to know each other (and have lots of amazing lifemate sex, of course). The supporting characters we meet are well done & interesting (and PLEASE tell me Thorne is going to get a book, because I need more Thorne in my life! NEED!). We also get to hang out w/ some of our favorite Immortals for a bit. And there's some super fun Lucian time, as well. *grin*
So, overall this one's a win for me. The last few chapters especially felt like old school Argeneau land, and that's a place I always love to visit. : )

Immortal Unchained An Argeneau Novel Lynsay Sands Books Reviews
I fell into the Argeneau Series by accident - when a former co-worker had extra books that she was gifting to her mother-in-law; so I chose one of these books. The series went from being hilarious and interesting to dang near ready to be placed in a coffin. Feeling like she should wrap up the series. The whole Dressler storyline has been dragging on and on and on now. It also has strayed from the core group and the 'lifemates' aren't being paired off by Aunt Marguerite. Which was always interesting and funny. This story was dry - parts were pretty good. I was definitely digging it at some parts and at least she still has me chuckling while reading with her humor. Yet, ready for the series to be wrapped up - it needs to be tied up into a nice finale and a little R.I.P. )
I love Lynsey Sands's novels! She had me hooked from the very first pages of 'A Quick Bite,' and I've be eagerly gobbling her books up ever since. Her Historical and Highlander Series are amazing, too. I've read all her books, and highly recommend this author!
That being said, I had a really hard time getting into this story. I think the main reason is simply this 'Immortal Unchained' has an extremely complicated storyline. I read the last 7-8 chapters in less than 2 hours. It took me 3 or 4 separate readings to read the preceding chapters.
Domitian and Sarita's romance was sweet and captivating, but getting past some of the first chapters was a bit too slow and detailed for my preference. But, something about their chemistry kept drawing me back, and I'm so glad it did! Sarita is a spunky, kick-ass cop, and Domitian is determined to keep her wrapped in cotton wool. Discovering all their quirks and wrinkles was a fun read!
Thank you, Lynda Sands, for making me laugh out loud while reading this book. The other patients in my Dr's waiting room gave me funny looks, so I laughed even harder!!!
Keep 'em coming!
Thanks,
Your devoted fan
Can't believe this is book #25 in the Argeneau series, and I'm still in lust/love with Lynsay Sands' hunky vampires and the strong women who love them unconditionally (eventually) and also stand up to them regularly.
Sarita and Domitian are life mates, and he has waited not too patiently for her to grow up before he claims her, he first spotted her when she was 13 and dining in his restaurant and the wait has been a long one he feels. He's kept tabs on her by hiring a private detective, and Sarita doesn't have a clue, even though she's been under surveillance for 15 years! She's now a police detective in Canada, and hasn't returned to her native Venezuela since she and her father left abruptly 15 years before. She has no inkling that vampires exist, but when her grandmother's employer asks her to return to Venezuela because her grandmother has had an accident, she boards a plane and goes!!
Domitian has also accepted a job with the same employer. Dr. Dressler has become the main suspect in the disappearance of several of the Rogue Hunters, and Domitian hopes to infiltrate his compound to see if he can locate any of the missing.
Needless to say, the good doctor has nasty surprises in store for all concerned, and Sarita and Domitian are a major part of his rotten plans.
Sometimes I can't understand how I can keep falling under Linsay's spell. It's the 25th book for heaven's sake, and the characters should seem so similar. However, she reels me in every time, and I find myself worried, cheering and jealous of the heroines, so feisty, every one, and drooling over their life mates. I guess we all need love and adventure in our lives, and Linsay delivers that in spades.
If you love vampires and women who will give them a run for their money, indulge yourself in Linsay's world!
I am use to Ms. Sands quirky immortals, feisty Female characters and an action pack story line. I prefered Joe, in Rogue Hunter, I think that's the right book. She kept trying to break Nicholas out of the immortal jail. My point is that even silly repetitions can be funny. This book, Immortal Unchained is missing this humor. Maybe it's just my lack of humor in sex and intimacy while kidnapped.
I am a real fan whose still waiting for Sam's third sister to find her immortal, but I must call out that CL Quinn did a whole series called the first and this was so similar, I was skipping pages. Of course there can be many God complex characters, but, the whole kidnapping, cross-breeding story is outlined in books 1 through 7 or 8 of the FIrst Series. I love the over sexed, out of time, funny Argeneau immortals and their feisty mates. Please bring them back. Thank you.
